easyJet update April

7 mei 2024

During our monthly meeting with the company we have had a lot of items to discuss. With this month’s newsletter we keep you updated.

Transfer list
The VNC addressed a rumor that has been going around in base regarding the transfer list. Members have reached out to us to raise their concerns. The transfer list will open on the 20th of May and will also be open to AMS crew. Keep an eye out on easyJet’s weekly newsletter in the upcoming weeks for more information about transfers.
The company is currently looking into creating a portal/news site that will give individuals that have requested a transfer to get insight in their position and other important information. Once this becomes available we will share more information with our members.

Upranking cabin managers
We are continuously making sure that all the agreements are being met by the company. All the uprankers that were next on the list to be made permanent have been informed by the base team. Management states that at this point we have a surplus of cabin managers in AMS. If you are an upranker and have any questions about your position on the upranking list, you can reach out to the base team.

Communications around TLV operations
On the 16th of April we were all informed that all operations to and from TLV have been suspended until the end of the summer season. The unions usually receive a union briefing in instances like this to inform our membership. However as the situation was very fluid and it was important to the company to inform its staff as soon as possible, we have not been contacted by the company. Management has promised to keep us up to date and invites crew to approach them if they have any questions.

New part-time pattern proposal
Under Dutch law employees have the right to work part-time. We already have a few preferred part-time patterns in our CLA, however our members have shared their wish for more options. The VNC proposed a new part-time pattern during the monthly meeting and it is currently under review of establishment. We look forward to share more as soon as we receive feedback from the management. If you have any questions about working part-time or have any ideas about new parttime patterns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.

Travel expenses January and February 2024
The travel expenses over January and February 2024 will be exchanged in your May salary. The majority of AMS crew will receive their holiday allowance (vakantiegeld). This creates the opportunity to retroactively exchange the travel allowance, as there is more fiscal space available. We will very shortly share more information on what to expect of the retroactive exchange.

Disruption payment
The process to claim disruption is up and running in Workday. You have until the 31st of May to retroactively claim any disruption from Jan 1, 2024 to April 30, 2024. After the 31st of May it will not be possible to claim any backdated disruption.
Any disruption incurred from May 1 needs to be filled within 14 days after the occurrence. More information on roster disruption can be found on the AMS base page.

CLA document
The unions and easyJet are currently busy with writing the new CLA. As per our proposal we want to offer our members a document that is easy to read and is law compliant. We are making great progress and we are hopeful to be able to offer you the finished document before summer commences.
